John and I live in the little country town of Springville located in the Endless Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania. We thank God for bringing us to this beautiful area where we raised our 2 daughters and are now enjoying watching our grandchildren grow here as well.
Thank you for taking the time to stop in and visit with us.
It is our prayer that as you spend time with us you may begin to reflect over memories that you thought were long forgotten. Or maybe, you will begin to build new ones! No matter what, we pray that you will leave here with a smile on your face and the desire to share your joy with others.
May we leave you with this: "For God so loved the world (that means you) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (placed your faith and trust) in Him (Jesus) should not perish but have everlasting life (with Him in heaven). ~ John 3:16
You are loved!!! ~ John & Lucy Galgano

...for giveaways!!! To try to keep things organized for everyone, I've started a second blog dedicated to all the fantastic giveaways that are offered by some of the greatest people. Stop over and follow today to keep up on all those special events.
I have used this blog as an opportunity to get to know some really great people and to share bits and pieces of my every day life. I feel led to share with you the most amazing, profound experience in my life.
At the age of 34, married with two children, I was looking for a way out of my life. Unhappy, unsatisfied, unfulfilled, depressed, dejected, disillusioned, I wanted nothing more to do with my family, my friends, or life in general.
That is...until Jesus Christ stepped into my life and saved me from a life destined to be separated from Him for an eternity. I transferred my faith and trust in myself and placed it on Him, asking Him to be my Lord and Saviour and save me from the destruction I was causing myself and to those most important in my life.
I am now 51 years old and have enjoyed a fulfilling relationship with Jesus. What I've learned is that religion won't change destiny, only a relationship and faith in Jesus can and will do that. Life has changed a lot for me these past 16 years. My husband, my children and my granddaughter are now all saved and assured an eternity in heaven. I'm not perfect, but by the grace of God He continues to work in my life to change me more into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.
If you are seeking answers from the world, you will be like me - unhappy, unsatisfied, unfulfilled, depressed, dejected, disillusioned. If you want life, and life more abundantly - come to Christ.
Finally!!! Spring is here. The Celebration that is!!! Take a look at just a few of the great items included in this celebration. This is just a sampling of some of the great work these fabulous Artisans have for sale.
But you need to hurry because these are going to be flying out the door just in time for Spring!!! The Celebration is to be held February 15th through March 1st.
All you need to do is click on the Old Farmhouse Gathering Spring Fling Celebration banner above and type in the search bar OFGSFC. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!!
Now I've heard of people having problems with mice, rats, snakes, spiders, ants and even ladybugs, but CATS! Now I need to tell you that we are city people who are trying to live like country folk and if there is such a thing as a dysfunctional farm, then we certainly own one.
I must say that I use the word farm loosely. We don't have cows, pigs, or horses. We do have chickens though. We don't plow our fields, grow our own food or even have big plans for a garden. We do have a tractor, backhoe and John Deere riding mower though.
We are dog lovers, rabbit lovers, bird lovers and enjoy the occasional red squirrel and chipmunk now and then. We've had barn cats, rats in the henhouse and a big fat woodchuck that likes to sit high on the tree stump near our house.
We've had tame bunnies running wild, eating raisins out of our hand, attempted to raise the baby robin that has fallen out of its nest, and nursed back to health a wild rabbit that was hit with the tractor.
We've experienced mice in the attic, an adult red squirrel in our bedroom and a baby red squirrel sitting above my daughter's head while sleeping (that's another post for another time :).
We've had Starlings raise families in the attic, bees building hives in our grill and bats in our hallway. Now, to top it all off we have CATS living in our basement!
At first, my husband saw a white one the other day. We thought, well that's not so bad - the cat can keep out the mice, the rats, the birds, the squirrels, the chipmunks, and the snakes. BUT then, last night there was an actual cat fight in our basement. SO there is not only a pretty little white cat but also a black cat. Now, we would like to think that it was a fight, but something tells me they may have been starting a family ;)
What do you do when you have cats in your basement? Maybe I should take a poll. How would you vote?

...something that is becoming more prevalent? I have noticed more and more on product listings, magazine articles, advertisements, and other various written materials, typos and major grammatical errors. I am a trained secretary and I understand the difficulty of proofreading your own work, but some of these errors are easily caught.
Perhaps this is a personal pet peeve of mine (and I know the way things go for me - there's probably typos and grammatical errors as I vent), but I find that if I come across typos there's a feeling of unprofessionalism which tends to turn me off.
I am not perfect by any means and do welcome being critiqued. I just feel that it's important to proofread and make necessary corrections in order to be taken seriously.
Here's a tip to proofread your own material:
Proofread backwards. Begin at the end and work back through the paper paragraph by paragraph or even line by line. This will force you to look at the surface elements rather than the meaning of the paper.
Phew!!! Thanks for letting me get that off my shoulders!
