Busy Week Ahead!

Saturday is our Annual Ladies Christmas Craft Workshop at Springville Baptist Church. It's a busy, busy week for everyone involved. I will be doing the cooking for morning refreshments, lunch and dessert. Others will be busy setting up and decorating. Still others are getting their crafts together to either demonstrate the techniques or teaching their hands-on, make-it/take-it classes. I love this event!!! The ladies who spend the morning with us are so funny! They love to laugh and eat and laugh and eat, oh and did I mention laugh and eat. This year's speaker is Cindy Hamm from New York State. Because this is an outreach to those who attend, it is our prayer that there will be some who will respond to the Word of God. We have approximately 100 ladies who are planning to attend, some who have been saved for years, some who have heard the Word of God before and never responded, some who have never heard the Word of God. It is our prayer that there will be those who respond to the invitation to be saved and those who are saved to recommit their lives to the Lord.

With Thanksgiving coming up in a short week and a half, it is our prayer that everyone will take some time to give thanks to our loving Lord. If it weren't for Him . . . !!!

Mystery Quilt Class is finished!

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly time flies. This year's mystery quilt class was called Scrappy Treasures. We started in February and just finished on Saturday. The ladies were able to finish their queen sized quilt tops throughout the year with each month's block being a mystery to each one. Some blocks we could finish in class, some blocks were taken home for homework. The tops were slowly being put together as they completed each section.

This final class was "Putting It All Together". They learned how to piece their backings and then layer their backs, batting and tops. There was even time to start basting them together! Because of the scrappy, country feel to these quilts, every lady decided they wanted to tie them. One of the ladies was able to finish tying her quilt that morning!!! Not quite sure how she did that!?! Mine is still sitting on my dining room table waiting to be finished as you can see in the pictures.

We always end our year with a potluck luncheon. Yummy! Everything was great.

A huge thank you to Sue Dawes who taught the class this year. What would I ever do without you? You are my dearest friend, sister in Christ and I love you!!! I wonder? Will we quilt in heaven?

Are you wondering about the other quilt I was supposed to finish a month or so ago? Well, that one is still waiting to be completed. Where does the time go?
