As you all know from my previous post, I love collecting fabrics, but I also love, love, love collecting and trying out new recipes. I found this Heritage Red Velvet Cake recipe and just had to try it out today. Awesome!!!! You can find the recipe by clicking here.

Now, if you stopped over to visit Sprinkle Bakes to see the recipe of the Heritage Red Velvet Cake, you've seen how beautiful that cake looks. Perfect for your Valentine don't you think?

I followed the recipe dividing the batter between three cake pans, baked, cooled, cut into heart shapes, made the cream cheese frosting (delish), frosted, dusted with the cake crumbs and this is how my cake looks:

It takes as good as it looks!!!

Being Canadian I had never had or heard of Red Velvet Cake until a few years ago. I remember that they mentioned it in Steel Magnolias so I figured it was a Southern Cake. Well, I just love it! I make Red Velvet Cupcakes all the time and I must say it is my all time favourited cake. What's not to love, it's RED.

Have a lovely day, see you on Pinterest.
