How to Hold Scissors to Reduce Hand Fatigue

When it comes to using scissors, a common problem people have is that they simply hold the scissors too tight. Stacy demonstrates how a looser grip on the scissors, or even holding the scissors with less fingers can help fight hand fatigue. Visit National Sewing Circle by clicking on the photo above.

Discarded Roses

In stock! The Scarlet Quince patterns are amazing!!! Discarded Roses is no exception. If you have never tried your hand at one of these patterns and would like to be challenged with this craft, I encourage you to do so. The results are striking and dramatic. You can purchase through my shop at Farmers Attic and check out all the great finds there or checkout directly below.

Discarded Roses

This is for the PATTERN ONLY.

Counted Cross Stitch, Discarded Roses. A still life of a bouquet of pink, red, and white roses, tossed onto a table.  (Original painting by Pierre Auguste Renoir, circa around 1875)

$14.99 +
shipping*

Included with your counted cross stitch chart is a FREE color floss label sheet. Original sample was stitched over 16 count cross stitch fabric and stitched over 1 but will look fantastic stitched on 32 count linen over 2. Pattern stitch count is 350 w x 218 l and measures on 16 count fabric 21.9" w x 13.6" l. DMC Floss is used throughout the pattern.

The picture is printed on the covers, making it easy to see what the finished product will look like. The cover material is bright white, heavy glossy paper for durability and vibrant color. The charts are printed on heavy weight, easy-to-handle 8.5" x 11" pages, coil bound so that the pages turn smoothly and the booklet lies flat.

This is not your grandmother’s cross stitch, with a few blocky colors and a lot of top-stitching! Scarlet Quince patterns offer the finest in cross stitch -- beautiful, colorful patterns you’ll love to stitch and be proud to display.

The pictures show you exactly how the finished work will look so you’ll never be disappointed with your results. You might mistake our pieces for the original, though — we use blended colors and a lot of detail to closely reproduce the original art.

Cross stitch, pure and simple — no quarter or half stitches, no top-stitching, no metallic threads, no beads, no doodads — just stunning results. We invite you to stitch along with us and discover what cross stitch can be!

Our patterns are easy enough for a first-time cross stitcher and satisfying to the experienced stitcher looking for something worthy of his or her time.

PLEASE NOTE: Patterns are NOT returnable to protect the copyright of the designer.

We love our customers and want only to be fair. We never charge more than what we would want to pay ourselves. If you overpaid for shipping, we will gladly refund $1.00 or more for the overage.

*PayPal payments only at this time.

Has It Really Been...

...over a year since my last post? So much has happened over the past year. I lost my mom to cancer, my daughter went to Iraq with Samaritan's Purse and then I lost my mind! Well, I didn't literally lose my mind!

Because of the stress that I had been experiencing, it was thought that I had had a slight stroke. I couldn't remember the day, even though my husband kept repeating it over and over again. I couldn't understand why we weren't in church (it happened on a Sunday), even though my husband kept repeating it over and over again. I couldn't remember that my daughter was in Iraq. I thought she joined the Army. (I lost it over that.) I did, however, remember that my mom had just passed. My husband was very thankful that he didn't have to tell me she was gone. Turns out, I was diagnosed with Global Transient Amnesia. Who would have thought there was even such a thing? The chances of it happening again (according to the docs) is slim to none. Lasted only a few hours but was hospitalized until they ruled out stroke, etc.

Things have also been crazy busy (not that they aren't now) and it's time to come back to spending time with you. I've missed you!!!
