Easy Guide Ball Tip Needles

Easy Guide Ball Tip Needles

If you cross stitch, you've probably heard about the Easy Guide Ball Tip Needles. If you haven't tried them yet, you are in for a treat. I started using the Easy Guide Ball Tip Needles about a year ago and it has really made stitching so much nicer. It's a little tricky if you are doing a full coverage with lots of "confetti" but for all other stitching...Easy Peasy! Weekend Stitching - There is Beauty in Simplicity

I've been working on this on and off for a few months and would really like to have a finish this weekend. It is intended as a gift for someone BUT I would love to actually keep this one for myself. I won't though but it's going to be tough to part with this one.

The pattern title is There is Beauty in Simplicity which is part of a series entitled The Songbird's Garden by Cottage Garden Samplings. Every one in the series is just gorgeous and it was hard to decide which one to choose for this special person in my life. I finally decided that this one would bring brightness and cheerfulness into her life with the message of Simplicity because that is what each of needs at this stage of our lives.

Then and Now!

I started stitching counted cross stitch nearly 40 years ago....WOW...did I just say that?  Phew...give me a minute to wrap my head around that!

Ok, I'm back πŸ™‚

When I first started stitching, I only knew of white Aida cloth. (Probably only 14 count.) Stitched up a storm for a few years on that. Then I found out about linen and that changed my world. Not a lot of back stitching but more half and quarter stitches. The details were sharper and more detailed. Then came blended needles...wait...I'll chat about that another day.

I've worked on various count sizes of linen from 28 count up to 40 count. Only a handful of solid colors were available but it didn't matter...patterns and booklets were plentiful with no limit to designs.

After a number of years with raising kids, working outside the home and busyness in general, counted cross stitch hit a back burner. New crafts came into popularity which I had to try like macrame and quilting. But unlike any craft I've dabbled in, I always had a love for counted cross stitch.

Fast forward to a few years ago when I picked up my needle again and I am blown away by how things have changed. The linens are absolutely gorgeous. The hand dying creating marbling and mottling makes these fabrics nearly one of a kind. The options are endless!

Now that my eyes are 40 years older (ugh), I have trouble stitching on the higher count linens...so back to Aida! BUT...not just white or solid colors are the only options!  I have found the perfect supplier...WooHoo!

Just added to my shop some 18 count traditional dyed pieces that I am in love with!  If you're like me, I know you are going to love them too! Below is just the start of what has been added. More to come!

🎢🎡🎢 Monday, Monday 🎡🎢🎡

Today, I'm going to whistle while I work! Maybe hum a tune or two. Or, sing along to Carole King's "Tapestry" album (my favorite music to clean to). That's what I'll be doing today. Oh, and laundry, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and cooking. Taxes are completed and submitted....so, no worries there!

What do you normally do on a Monday?
